How to make a buttonhole (without fear and with tricks).
If you want to make a buttonhole but don't dare, we're here to help you achieve it!
First of all... remember to put the buttonhole presser foot on your machine!
Step by step to achieve a perfect buttonhole:
Fold the fabric in half and insert a pin to mark the center.
Use a pilot friction to draw a buttonhole about 2 cm.
Change and place the buttonhole presser foot on your machine. Essential for things to flow! With the thread properly placed in the presser foot, start sewing the buttonhole calmly. The machine does the work... but you have the control.
Cut the threads, press gently and... magic! The pilot friction disappears.
Time to open the buttonhole
Place a pin at the end of the buttonhole to avoid cutting too far.
Open it carefully with the seam ripper (or the tip of some fine scissors).
And there you have it: a clean, polished buttonhole ready to show off.
