Embroidery: Stem stitch
For curved lines and outlines!
The stem stitch is widely used to draw curved lines and outlines. It is ideal for flower stems, letters, and soft shapes.
Make a stitch forward, and bring the needle back through the center of the previous stitch, slightly to one side. Repeat this movement following the desired outline.
Its fluid stroke gives a very nice and professional finish to the embroidery. An essential stitch!
